A tourist tax is a small fee paid by visitors to help maintain and protect the world’s most popular travel destinations.
These funds are reinvested into the local community to support infrastructure, preserve historical landmarks and keep public spaces like beaches and parks clean. Usually charged as a nightly rate at your hotel or accommodation, it ensures the cost of maintaining city services is shared fairly. Your contribution helps keep the locations you love vibrant and ready for your future adventures.
Venice tourist tax
The primary purpose of the tax is to better manage tourist flows in such a way as to preserve Venice and also allow those who are there to enjoy it pleasantly.
The fee is 5 Euros if paid at least four days before the guest's arrival. 10 Euros if the fee is paid three days or less in advance.
This entry tax applies only to visitors to Venice on selected dates and does not apply to those staying in hotels in Venice or its local municipalities.
For more information, please visit the Venice Access Fee Website.
However, for those that are exempt from paying the entry tax, an exemption must be applied for, for each individual traveller, and you can do this via the official link below:-
