April 2025.
Following on from the introduction of the Venice Tourist Tax in Summer 2024, the initiative will continue this year as well. The primary purpose of the tax is to better manage tourist flows in such a way as to preserve Venice and also allow those who are there to enjoy it pleasantly.
The fee is 5 Euros if paid at least four days before the guest's arrival. 10 Euros if the fee is paid three days or less in advance.
This entry tax will only apply to those visiting Venice on selected dates and does not apply to those that are staying in hotels in Venice and its local municipalities.
For more information, please visit the Venice Access Fee Website.
However, for those that are exempt from paying the entry tax, an exemption must be applied for, for each individual traveller, and you can do this via the official link below:-
Venice Entry Tax Exemption Application
This is a free-of-charge service. Once you have applied for the exemption, you will be emailed a QR Code, which you will need to present when asked for it by local authorities. You can download the QR code to your Smartphone or tablet, or alternatively you can take this in a printed format.
